Nick Berry as PC Nick Rowan
Nick Berry was the heart of the show, the steady and kind PC Rowan who always did the right thing. After leaving Heartbeat in 1998, he decided to step back from the spotlight to focus on being a dad. Now, he lives a quiet life in the countryside with his wife, rarely acting, but he popped up in a 2018 documentary that felt like a reunion with an old friend.
Niamh Cusack as Dr. Kate Rowan
Our beloved Dr. Kate broke our hearts when she left the series, and Niamh Cusack moved on to a stellar stage and screen career. You might have spotted her in the Harry Potter films or on shows like The Crown. It’s like finding out your favorite local teacher went on to teach at a world-famous university—impressive but not surprising.
