Light intensity is the boss. In dim light, the pupils open wide, and the tapetum shines bright green or blue. In bright sun, pupils shrink, and the color pops more—sometimes looking golden or amber.
Angle matters, too. Catch them from the side, and it’s a flash of emerald. Look straight on? That same eye could be a deep copper. Cats are basically living kaleidoscopes.
