Okay, so the beautiful Belnord is the face, but the soul of the show is built at a soundstage in Brooklyn. Specifically, it’s at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens. They build totally convincing copies of apartments, hallways, and even the Arconia’s elevator.
Fun fact: the elevator in the show is completely fake. It doesn’t move. The actors just shake and rattle inside while a stagehand bangs on the walls. (Now you can’t un-see that, can you?) The production design team absolutely nails it, making every nook and cranny feel lived-in and suspicious.
Only Murders in the Building Filming Locations
So when you’re watching the trio creep down a hidden passage, remember: they’re on a set in Queens, not actually crawling through a 100-year-old building. It’s like a really elaborate, very expensive Halloween haunted house.
