If you’ve ever waited for a package that was supposed to arrive yesterday, you know the drill. You refresh the tracking page, you sigh, and you convince yourself it’ll show up any minute. That’s exactly where we are with Old Guard 3.
Netflix hasn’t officially announced a release date yet. I know, I know—it stings. But here’s the good news: the sequel, Old Guard 2, wrapped filming back in 2026, and it’s expected to drop sometime in 2026. So a third movie? That’s still in the “please-dear-producers-don’t-forget-about-us” phase.
Why Should You Even Care?
Imagine you have a group of friends who are immune to paper cuts, never get sick, and can survive a car crash like it’s a minor inconvenience. That’s the Old Guard: a team of immortal mercenaries who’ve been around since the Crusades. They’re basically your super-reliable pals who always have your back—and also know how to fight with ancient weapons.
But here’s the thing that makes it special: they’re not just action heroes. They’re human (well, sort of). They get bored. They fall in love. They argue about who has to drive. Charlize Theron’s character, Andy, has been alive for thousands of years, and she’s tired of watching everyone she loves die. Sound familiar? It’s like that feeling when your favorite show adds a sad backstory—but with more stab wounds.
