When D-Day arrives, you don’t get a fancy email with fanfare. No, you have to log in to the College Board website and refresh like a maniac. It’s like checking your crush’s Instagram story, but with more sweating and less butterflies.
The exact time? Usually around 8 a.m. Eastern Time. That’s 5 a.m. for West Coast early birds who haven’t slept from anxiety. Pro tip: don’t check at midnight unless you enjoy staring at a “Your scores are not yet available” screen for three hours.
And if you’re feeling impatient, remember: the College Board releases scores in waves. Some people get them at 8:01 a.m., others at 8:47 a.m. It’s the universe’s way of testing your patience before the test that tested your patience, obviously.
What If Your Score Doesn’t Show Up? (Don’t Panic—Yet)
Okay, so it’s 10 a.m. and you see nothing. Your friend Kevin posted a screenshot of his 1400, and you’re convinced your score was eaten by gremlins. Don’t panic—this is actually super normal.
Sometimes your score is delayed because of a “pending” status. That loud, scary word just means College Board wants to double-check your test isn’t a robot taking it for you. Or it could be a registration issue. Either way, you’ll usually get an email within a week explaining the delay.
Worst case scenario? You wait a little longer. But hey, suspense builds character, right? Or at least it builds a good story for your therapist later.
