If you’re reading this today, and your heart is pounding for the Seahawks, here’s the scoop: the game usually kicks off around 5:20 PM Pacific Time for Sunday night games. But check your local listings, because prime-time slots can shift like a quarterback dodging a sack. Monday night? That’s 5:15 PM PT. Thursday? Same deal, typically 5:20 PM PT.
Wait—did I say “typically”? That’s the trap. The NFL loves to throw curveballs. One week it’s the early slot at 1:25 PM, the next it’s the late afternoon. So, always verify with the official Seahawks app or your favorite sports site, unless you want to show up at halftime wearing a jersey that says “Go Hawks” while the team is already in the locker room.
Why You Can’t Just Trust Your Gut (Even If It’s a Good Gut)
I once assumed a game was at 10 AM because “it’s always the early slot.” Big mistake. My coffee was cold, the snacks were stale, and the Seahawks were already up 14 points. Embarrassing doesn’t cover it. The truth is, game times depend on network deals, bye weeks, and whether the commissioner sneezes a certain way. Don’t be that person who texts the group chat five minutes after kickoff.
And here’s a pro tip, friend: set a reminder on your phone for two hours before the game. That way, you can panic-buy guacamole and argue with your friend about whether the defense is ready. It saves your reputation. Also, it means you don’t have to yell at your smart speaker, “Hey, Siri, why do you hate my team?” during the national anthem.
