Then you pull up Google, and the time zones hit you like a blindside block. “4:25 PM ET” might as well be written in ancient runes if you live on the West Coast. You start doing the math: “Okay, so if ET is three hours ahead… wait, no, is it daylight savings? Did we spring forward or fall back?” Your forehead is now touching the screen. It’s like solving a calculus problem just to watch a bunch of big men chase a leather egg.
Meanwhile, your buddy from New York is already texting: “Bro, why aren’t you watching? Game started five minutes ago!” And you’re like, “Bro, it’s 10:05 AM here. I haven’t even found my lucky socks yet.” This is the universal struggle of the 49ers fan living on Pacific Time. It’s not a game; it’s a time-travel experiment you never signed up for.
Where’s the Remote? The Great Hunt
Finding out the time is only half the battle. The real challenge is locating the TV remote. It’s either wedged between couch cushions, next to a crumb of last week’s pizza, or—my personal favorite—in the refrigerator. I swear, the remote has a secret life. It sneaks out at night to play poker with the missing socks.
Once you find it, you mutter, “Okay, what channel is it on again?” Is it Fox? CBS? The ghost of NFL Network? You scroll through the guide, and suddenly you’re watching a rerun of a murder mystery show from 1998. Your spouse walks in and says, “I thought you were watching football?” You just grunt, because words are hard when you’re this close to missing kickoff.
And if you have a streaming service? Forget it. You’ll spend ten minutes logging into an app that asks for your password, which you definitely saved to “Password123” last year. Then you get an error: “Game not available in your region.” Excellent. Time to call your cousin in Montana for a “technical workaround” that involves a VPN and a prayer.
