One standout is St. Mary's Catholic Primary in somewhere lovely. They got shortlisted for Community Partnership of the Year. Why? Because they didn’t just teach kids to read. They teamed up with a local care home for a "Grandfriends" project. Cutest thing ever? Probably.
What Did They Actually Do?
Let’s get into the nitty-gritty. Another school, Goose Green Primary in London, got shortlisted for Inclusive School of the Year. That’s not a participation trophy situation.
They created a "calm corner" for anxious kids. They also started a sensory garden that smells like a hug. Seriously. It’s like they’re wizards, not teachers. I mean, how do they even have time to teach times tables?
And then there’s Bishop Challoner Catholic College. These legends are up for STEM Project of the Year. They built a robot that sorts recycling. A robot. I can barely sort my own laundry, and these teenagers are out here solving climate change. Show-offs.
Hadleigh Junior School - SEEAT shortlisted for a national award
Don’t even get me started on the Sixth Form College, Farnborough. They’re shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts. They put on a full musical production of Les Misérables with a cast of 100 students. One hundred! That’s more people than in my entire extended family, and they all have to remember lyrics.
