I’m now convinced that Anthony Hopkins as the Grinch narrator is the MCU post-credits scene we never knew we needed. Imagine a movie where he just narrates the life of his uncle in Wales, but applied to Christmas. “The nephew shifted in his slippers…” he’d growl, and we’d all weep. The man elevated “truffula trees” to the same level of seriousness as “the silence of the lambs.”
So, next time you watch that 2000 masterpiece, don’t just watch the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes. Listen to the narrator. Appreciate that a world-class actor decided to lend his godlike voice to a story about green belly button lint. It’s the most wonderful, ridiculous, and perfectly mismatched gift the holidays ever gave us. Cheers, Sir Tony. You made hating Christmas sound like the most elegant tragedy since Titus Andronicus.
