We’d seen Will face danger before. He was a shark in court, always swimming, always winning. So when he’s in that courtroom, defending his client, it felt like business as usual.
But then a witness says something crazy. The judge clears the room, and the bailiff goes for his gun. I remember yelling at my TV, “He’s got it under control!” Spoiler: he did not.
The Shot That Came Out of Nowhere
The gun goes off. Not loudly, but with a dull, horrible thud. Will stumbles, and you see this tiny, impossible drop of blood on his forehead.
I actually rewound the scene. Twice. Because my brain refused to process what my eyes were seeing. It was too sudden, too quiet for a character that loud.
The show didn’t give us a dramatic speech. No slow-motion montage. Just Will on the floor, and the world ending for Alicia. How dare they?
