Animal phylums are like a giant, sometimes-squishy family tree. From sponges that don’t move to octopuses that outsmart you, every phylum is a wild, successful experiment in “how to survive.”
And here’s the best part: you’re part of it. Every single animal on Earth shares a common ancestor with you. Somewhere, billions of years ago, a single-celled creature decided to party, and now we have starfish, snails, and humans arguing over who gets the last slice of pizza.
So next time you see a worm or a jellyfish, give it a little nod. They’re your distant cousins—just with worse fashion sense. Stay curious, you beautiful chordate!
