Here’s where it gets sneaky. Some smaller Morrisons Local stores or petrol forecourts might close at 5pm or even 6pm. Others might shut at 3pm. It’s a lottery. Seriously, check your local store’s hours online—it’s the Christmas miracle you need. Don’t trust your cousin’s “I think they close at 4” from three years ago.
Pro tip: use the Morrisons store finder or Google Maps. Look for the ‘Christmas Eve’ slot. If it says ‘Closed’ you’re either too late or the internet is playing a cruel joke. Call them if you’re really nervous. Yes, a human might answer. It’s 2026, but miracles happen.

What to Buy (And What to Avoid)
If you go on Christmas Eve, buy the essentials: cream, butter, last-minute veg, and batteries for that toy you hid away. Do not buy a whole turkey. They’re gone by 9am. Don’t even look at the fresh fish counter—it’s a war zone. Stick to the ‘safe zones’: the dairy aisle and the booze section. Everyone leaves happy with wine.
Also, embrace the chaos. You will see a man arguing over the last bag of sprouts. A woman will block the entire aisle with her trolley of six cheesecakes. It’s a festive rite of passage. Smile, nod, and grab your gravy.
