Here’s a spicy truth: worn-out tires are a direct cause of locked wheel skids. Bald tires have no grip. They’re like trying to stop a shopping cart on a polished floor. If your tread depth is low, even a gentle brake press can lock the wheels because the tire can’t bite into the road surface.
Check your tires, people. The penny test works: stick a penny in the tread with Lincoln’s head down. If you see the top of his head? New tires, please. Otherwise, you’re basically skating on plastic. And we all know how that ends: a locked wheel skid, a lot of swearing, and a prayer to the car gods.
