You know those “official” sports apps? They’re great for stats but terrible for live start times. I’ve seen them show 4:25 PM one minute and then change it to 4:35 PM the next. It’s like they’re gaslighting us. My advice? Ignore the app and head straight to the team’s official Twitter or website. Or just text your buddy who’s a die-hard fan—they always know.
If you’re reading this at, say, 3:50 PM, you still have time. Grab your snacks, settle your bets (if that’s your thing), and find a stable Wi-Fi connection. The Lions have a habit of starting fast, so missing the first play could mean missing a 60-yard touchdown. True story: last week, I looked down to butter my toast, and by the time I looked up, the Lions had scored. Crunch.

A quick reminder for the road
If you’re commuting or stuck at work, set an alarm for 4:15 PM. That gives you a ten-minute buffer to find the game on your phone. Streaming services often have a 30-second delay, so if you hear your neighbor cheer, you’re already behind. The irony of modern sports—we’re surrounded by instant information, yet we still scramble for a reliable start time.
By the way, has anyone else noticed that “4:25 PM” feels like a prison sentence? It’s too late for lunch, too early for dinner, and right in the middle of your afternoon slump. But that’s the Lions for you—they thrive on inconveniencing our schedules. And we love them for it.
