Walking past the clinic, you’ll often see a queue of people with carriers, cats peeking out, or dogs wagging tails. It feels community-driven, like a village hub in the middle of a busy city. Everyone’s in the same boat—trying to do the right thing for an animal that can’t say “thank you” (though they might purr or nuzzle).
That's Pets
They don’t judge if your rescue cat is a bit hissy. They’ve seen it all. One volunteer told me about a cat named “Grumpy Gus” who arrived biting everyone. After a week of love and good food, he became a lap cat. That’s the magic. Every animal gets a second chance, no matter how rough their start.
How you can join the club (without moving in)
The easiest way to care is to visit their website or just pop by Lewisham Way on a Saturday. You can sponsor a cat’s vet bill, foster a shy kitten in your spare room, or simply share their posts on social media. Your aunt who sends you cat memes? Share one of their rescue stories—it spreads the word faster than a cat chasing a laser pointer.
Think of it as a civic duty with a furry payoff. Next time you’re buying milk at the corner shop, buy an extra tin of tuna. Leave it at the Trust’s door (check their hours first). That simple act connects you to a chain of kindness that saves lives, one whisker at a time.
