Assuming you survived the 5 AM finish, you’ll crawl to bed, only to wake up at 8 AM for work. Your colleagues will ask, “Did you watch the Oscars?” and you’ll mumble, “Yeah, the Fabelmans didn’t win Best Picture.” They’ll think you’re a pretentious film snob. They are correct.
But here’s the ultimate hack: record the ceremony on your Sky Q box or Virgin Media planner, and watch it Monday evening. No spoilers. Just fast-forward through the dance numbers and the montage of Meryl Streep. It takes 90 minutes. You’re welcome.
One final surprising fact: the UK is the second-largest market for the Oscars after the US. That means thousands of Brits are also setting alarms for 1 AM. You are not alone. You are part of a tired, tea-drinking army. Now go prep that blanket fort.
