If you need injections—like for diabetes or a monthly shot—you’re totally fine. Bring the needles. Bring the alcohol wipes.
You just need the medication in its original packaging with a prescription or doctor’s note. Nobody wants to see you fight with a needle at 35,000 feet.
And don’t worry about the flight attendants. Just let them know you’ll be doing a quick injection during the flight. They’ll probably offer you an extra ginger ale.
Packing for a Long-Haul Flight
On flights longer than four hours, your body can feel like it’s been through a blender. Pack a dose of meds for the flight itself.
For example, if you take pain meds for an old knee injury, have them handy. Your knee will appreciate your foresight while you watch a mediocre movie.
I once forgot my migraine meds on a ten-hour flight. Let me tell you, the tiny bottle of wine did not fix the problem. Learn from me.
