Grab a bag of frozen peas—or, if you’re feeling fancy, an actual ice pack. Lay a few cubes inside a ziplock bag (no water leaks, please!) and press it directly onto the wax blob. Wait about five minutes.
By now, the wax will be brittle and hard, like a forgotten piece of cheese in the back of your fridge. Take a plastic scraper (an old credit card works perfectly) and gently pop the wax off. It should shatter into satisfying little shards. See? No trauma required.
This works because wood contracts ever so slightly when cold, while wax becomes brittle and loses its grip. It’s basic physics, but it makes you feel like a floor ninja. Just go slow—you don’t want to scratch the polyurethane layer.
