Straps are like the fun aunts of the bra world—they help, but they shouldn’t carry the whole burden. If they’re digging trenches into your shoulders, your band is probably too loose. Adjust the straps so they’re snug but not strangling. You should be able to slide one finger under each strap—not a whole finger and a cookie.
If they keep slipping off your shoulders like a bad habit, try a racerback or a bra with wider straps. Your shoulders are not ski slopes. And if you have to tighten them so much that you feel like a marionette, it’s time for a new band size.
