Do not—I repeat, do not—store the avocado in a plastic bag with a banana. Bananas release ethylene gas, which actually ripens and softens your avocado faster. You’ll end up with a brown, squishy nightmare. Trust me, I learned this the hard way during a quarantine baking spree.
Also, don’t freeze a half avocado unless you plan to blend it into smoothies. Freezing ruins the texture—turns it into a mushy, watery paste. Not the vibe for your morning toast.
