You know how your feet swell on a long flight? That’s gravity being a jerk. Same thing happens under your eyes when you sleep flat. Gravity pulls fluid into your face.
Try sleeping with an extra pillow under your head. Just one. It tilts your face slightly upward, so fluid drains down into your body instead of settling under your eyes.
It feels weird for the first night, like you’re sleeping on a ramp. Give it a week. You’ll wake up looking fresher, even if your neck feels a little denied.
Don’t Forget Your Décor
If your bedroom is dusty or full of allergens, you’re making things worse. Dust mites, pet dander, and old pillows love to irritate your eyes. Allergies are a major puffiness trigger.
Wash your pillowcases in hot water once a week. Get a hypoallergenic pillow if you can. Your eyes will stop throwing a mini tantrum every morning.
Also, keep your phone off the nightstand. Screen glare and blue light can strain your eyes, making them look puffier. Give them a real break, not a digital one.
