The pilot episode aired in 1994. Most of the characters had birthdays that year, so we’ll use that as our anchor.
Monica Geller is the youngest. She turns 25 in Season 1. Remember the episode where her license says she’s 24? Yeah, that’s her birth year, but by the time we meet her, she’s firmly 25.
Ross Geller is the oldest. He’s 26. Poor guy had his birthday in the pilot itself, turning from 25 to 26 while eating a cookie. Classic Ross.
Now, Rachel Green? She ditches Barry at the altar at age 24. She’s a runaway bride, remember? So she’s the baby of the group, at least emotionally.
The Rest of the Chaos
Chandler Bing is also 25. He and Monica are the same age, which makes their later marriage a little less creepy. He’s just… traumatized by his parents.
Joey Tribbiani is 25 too. The man can’t even spell “age,” but he’s out there, trying to audition. He’s the eternal 25-year-old, even when he’s 35 later.

Phoebe Buffay is the wild card. She’s 25 or 26? Her backstory is fuzzy. She says she lived in Prague, but we know that’s a lie. Let’s just say she’s ageless in spirit.
