Most vets agree on one thing: Wet food is great for hydration and protein. But you don’t have to serve it three times a day unless you want to. The real answer? It depends.
Classic, right? Just when you want a straight answer, the universe says “maybe.” But hear me out.
If Your Cat is a Dry Food Addict
Some cats turn their nose up at wet food. They’re basically tiny, furry hipsters. If that’s your cat, offering wet food once a day is plenty. It gives them moisture and variety without starting a mutiny.
But try this trick: mix a spoonful of wet food into their dry kibble. Suddenly, you’re a gourmet chef. You’ll get points for effort and they’ll still feel like they “won.”
The Wet-Only Squad
If your cat eats only wet food (high-five for hydration!), you’re looking at two to three meals a day. Cats are natural grazers, but wet food spoils fast. Leaving it out for eight hours is like leaving sushi on the counter—just don’t.
A good rhythm? Breakfast, dinner, and maybe a late snack. Your cat will judge you if you’re late, but they’d judge you anyway.
