The next time someone says “a term is 12 weeks,” smile. You know they’re lying. They probably don’t realize they’re lying, but they are.
A term is a wiggly, stretchy, cultural myth. It changes by country, by school, by teacher mood, and by whether there’s a snow day.
So, how many weeks are in a term? However many it takes for you to finish that one boring class. Usually twenty too many, or two too few. Never, ever the exact number you expect.
