Crane games can look simple, but many require technique. The claw may not be designed to lift a prize directly. Some machines require players to nudge, rotate, or slide the item little by little. Before spending money, watch how the prize moves when other people play. That gives you better information than guessing from the outside.
Check the shape and weight of the prize. Plush toys behave differently from boxed figures. A soft item may be easier to shift but harder to grip cleanly. A box may slide or tip if the claw hits the correct edge. Small changes in position matter.
Do not be shy about asking staff for help if a prize is stuck or has reached an awkward position. In Japanese arcades, staff may reset or adjust a prize depending on store policy and the situation. Polite requests are normal, though help is not guaranteed.
