We're kicking off our ranking with Rhinestone (1984), a musical comedy that, unfortunately, didn't quite shine like Dolly's personality. Despite the lackluster script, she still managed to sparkle alongside Sylvester Stallone, proving that even a subpar movie can't dull her star power. It's a fun, cheesy watch, but not her finest hour.
Dolly Parton took on a more dramatic role in Steel Magnolias (1989), playing the lovable and outspoken Truvy Jones. With an all-star cast, including Sally Field and Julia Roberts, this film is a masterclass in acting, and Dolly holds her own with ease. Get ready for laughter and tears with this beloved classic.
