First, yank those seeds out of the pumpkin guts. Don’t be shy—get your hands in there. It’s messy, it’s primal, and it’s the reason we have paper towels. Once you have a bowl of seeds that look like they went swimming in a pond of string, rinse them in a colander under cold running water.
Rub them gently with your fingers to break up the clingy, orangey slime. You’ll see the water run clear, and you’ll feel like a victory is near. A few stubborn fibers are totally fine—they’ll add a little fiber to your life, literally. Just don’t leave any big, wet globs.
