The story begins in 1814, when Norway gained independence from Denmark and King Christian Frederick took the throne. Little did he know, his reign would be short-lived, and he'd be ousted by the Swedish king, Carl XIII. Yep, it was a bit of a royal mess!
Fast forward to King Haakon VII, who ruled from 1905 to 1957. This guy was a real character, known for his sense of humor and ability to connect with the common folk. He even helped establish Norway's parliamentary system, making him a bit of a hero in Norwegian history.
