Delhi is loud, chaotic, and has a smog problem that sometimes makes it look like the apocalypse rolled into town. But it’s also a place where you can eat a $1 plate of butter chicken while standing next to a 500-year-old tomb.
It’s the capital because it survived. It was destroyed and rebuilt seven times (historians claim). Each time, it rose again, a little more crowded and a lot more delicious.
