The biggest surprise? The format hasn’t changed much. Thank goodness, right? They’ve kept the classic panel: Jamie, Freddie, Micah, and Romesh. It’s comfort food for the brain.
But there’s a new energy this season. Maybe it’s the weird, pandemic-fueled hobbies they’ve all picked up. Or maybe they’re just bored of being nice to each other. Either way, the banter is sharper than a broken beer bottle.
They’ve also added a few new “challenges.” One involves a giant inflatable hamster wheel. I’m not kidding. Watching Freddie scramble inside it while Micah trash-talks from the sideline? Pure, chaotic gold.
The Showdowns We Didn’t Know We Needed
The real highlight? The new head-to-head showdowns. They’ve clearly been saving the best ideas for the big 2-0. One segment had them trying to stack teacups on a moving treadmill. Ridiculous. But I was on the edge of my seat.
And the banter is next level. Jamie Redknapp is still the adorable, confused golden retriever. Freddie is the smug cat who just knocked over your plant. Romesh is the withering, sarcastic dad. And Micah? He’s the chaotic, laughing uncle who makes everything worse. It’s a perfect storm.
There’s a moment in Episode 4 where Jamie tries to argue he’s “good at math.” Freddie’s response is a slow, painful silence. Then Romesh just whispers, “No, you’re not.” I nearly choked on my toast.
